We all buy certain component/components and im sure like myself hope it will last several years and meet or exceed our expectations. For me after running a reef Keeper controller for 11 years trouble-free was in hopes when i bought the Apex 2016 unit as soon as it was released after trying the classic once Reef Keeper went out.
Another would be my Orphek Atlantics with OR3 Bars as well as return pumps which I hope will go 10-15 years.

Other than the Reef keeper, my other longest running component a Danner Supreme pump over a decade and I sold it with a tank and it ran another 4 years, the last I heard from that person. I just went through another Neptune EB832 blowing up and have no choice to get yet another with new capacitor as Apex no longer supports the old EB832.

What is the longest running component you have?
If it failed, what would you replace it with and why?

We just had a post on reliability, and this pertains to longevity

I've only been in the hobby about 8 years but my tunze 6105 and AI hydra 26 have been running most of that time and are still in use.
Hydra 26 has been one of the best lights ive used. With many new members getting under way and joining the hobby- this info helps

Believe it or not I've got a two bulb T5 cheap odyssea fixture I bought used on ebay still going after 6 years.
I've also dropped it in the tank twice and the floor numerous times. Still kicking.

had an eheim canister filter run for 15 years. was still running when i trashed it. personally i try to avoid anything WiFi, the electronics is what fails. a/c return pumps run forever, put a DC controllor on it and its junk.
like mentioned my reef keeper is the only electronic that lasts

My Korallin CaRx is over 20 years old. Pump is Ehiem and they are known to last that long too.

AquaMedic MH fixtures are almost 15 years old along with the ballasts.

I have a few Tunze 6100 that are so old that I forgot when I got them. One in a wavebox and one in a tank. I have some 6105s that I got when they first came out.

Askol block pumps also at a decade plus - laguna.

twenty years?? Impressive

CaRx body does not break down - it shows that the design and build was good. The ehiem pump is the amazing part. It is starting to get a bit noisy, so I have had a replacement impeller for many years now if it gets worse.

I had a second Korallin nearly as old, but I dropped it. Sad face.
