Longhorn cowfish horn question

Hi there i am looking at buying a longhorn cowfish from LPS. The fish has some brown mucus like stuff on the tips of the front and back horn, from the protectors they put on for shipping. Has anyone ever had a problem with that? He will be going into quarantine and was wondering what i should use for this. LPS thinks its a bacterial infection from protectors but fish has been in their tank for 2 weeks. THOUGHTS!!!!!!!

Not something I've seen before on a cowfish, but it sounds like a bacterial infection.

Dosing Kanaplex in QT would probably be a good idea. Post pics if you can.

I have had many Longhorn Cowfish, I have a 4" one right now. I have had many bad experiences (3) with cowfish that I have purchased that looked anything less then perfect. I find that bacteria hit them hard and they have a hard time recovering from it. If I were you, I would try to find another one. Give me a call if you have any questions, 18056991270
