I just got home and went to look at my fish and my longnose hawk is no where to be found. i haven’t seen him since last night, i don’t think the cuc could’ve made his body dissappear that fast could they? all the other fish seem fine the only thing i notcied was my grounding probe wasn’t plugged into the wall and i have no idea how many weeks or days that that has been unplugged. any ideas as to how he could have died?

If it's not on the floor (see above), is it possible it died and got lodged somewhere in the rocks you can't see?
i have a lid yes and i’ve searched for like 15 minutes in between all the cracks and crevices. my ammonia seems to be at .15 i’m not sure if that’s high or not tbh

I had one that jumped 6' clear out of the tank, so you may want to expand the search area. It's unlikely your tank mates disposed of it in less than 12 hours, but I don't know what you all have for reef inhabitants or cleanup crew.

The last fish I lost (a few weeks ago) went missing, nothing for 2 days and then we found about two thirds of the corpse left. This was a 3" clownfish and I've got a huge number of fish and a massive cleanup crew.

well i just found him. my cleaner shrimp has his body in his hiding spot. i’m not really sure why i’m having issues with these fish. it seems every 2-3 months i have a longnose die

Not a chance. It did avail itself of a free meal, though.
fair enough. i talked with a friend of mine and they thought maybe the clowns in the tank could’ve done something? but i’ve never noticed any nipped fins or anything i did at one point but i seperate them and re introduced them after a few days and they’ve been fine since and that was over a month ago.

Clownfish can be d*cks. I had 2 that amassed quite a kill count. That isn't to say they're responsible, though - or even the most likely suspects.

very true statement lol. I think the world may be just telling me no no matter how bad I want to keep one.
