Well nothing good came from the fw dip, had him in for 5 minutes in a dark container and water was free of any flukes or other visible nasties. He's back in the qt tank. Unfortunately this will be my third long nose...I tried two from lfs a few months ago and lost both, then ordered from live aquaria a few weeks back to try something else out and this fish ate like a champ day one in qt. The puffer did too, neither showed any signs of sickness for the full 2 weeks aside from one stringy poop (which I treated for over a week with metro soaked food, and they both ate the whole time), so I moved both to the dt last weekend.
Lost the puffer Saturday (6 days in dt...looked healthy I assumed stress related somehow...was disappointed fou sure but glad I still had the hawk), hawk ate Sunday, I missed a frozen feed Monday (so he just got auto feeder with pellets), and then he wouldn't eat yesterday or today with multiple tries. He was eating out of my hand literally 3 days ago, taking a big chunk of food right from my fingers. This doesn't make sense to me, a fish seems great for 3+ weeks, suddenly stops eating and has no visible symptoms other than flat stomach (which is just caused by the non eating).
