Look at this nasty hombre

Big ole bristle worm. He is like 4" that was sticking out of the rock. Not sure how much more was in the rock. Last time i tried to get rid of bristleworms i added a luner wrasse and the cure was worse than the disease. He was a monster. Should i just let this dude be or try to eradicate him.

I have a melanurus and a red Coris that keeps them at bay. If I pull rock out of my display, I see them on occasion, but never outright in the open.

Also hawkfish helps with them.

Let it be. They are scavengers and will help churn sand and keep the tank clean. BUt, be careful not to let them over run the tank.

I would not worry about it.

They are great addition to clean up crew. But if you are worried a DIY bristle worm trap will work.

Bristleworms essentially never kill fish. Fireworms can, but even that's pretty rare. I wouldn't worry. If a fish dies or is dying, bristleworms will be on em in no time, so occasionally people will report bristleworms killing their fish. It's exceedingly uncommon if it ever happens at all on fish that don't already have 1 foot out the door.

I owned a dragon wrasse for a bit, so my tolerance for rock tossing is extreme. The Coris can go after small cuc, but I have a few residents that do that thus Im used to regular restocking.

A regular bristleworm isn't going to eat your coral or fish.

Pics sucks but doesn't look like a bad guy.
