So in my town there is a scratch and dent store called Hi-Lo. I go in there sometimes looking for just about anything and boy did I find something. She's a diamond in the rough. I got a 36" coralife lunar aqua light 4 bulb t5 with two lunar leds. This fixture isn't too expensive new, and the one I found was mishandled for sure and is missing a bulb. But both sets of lights come on as well as the LEDs. So I'm sure you're wondering why I "stole" this light... well it was marked from $125 to $99 because of the missing bulb. Works for me I plan to use ATI bulbs anyways... BUT it was also in the clearance section, 50% off!!!! That's right I paid $53 out the door for this brand new fixture. They go for about $229 online so I'd say I got a heck of a deal. Sorry for rambling but I'm pretty excited if you can't tell. [emoji23] happy Reefing everyone!

LOL, nice score! Youll have to go back and see if they have tanks...

I go in there pretty often now. They have a fluval evo 13.5g aio with built in lights for $117 but the fiancé said I have enough tanks [emoji23] I only have two... and they're small...

I used the 30" version of this light for awhile over a 29g 30" long tank and grew corals just fine. I still have it in the closet as an emergency backup light if I ever need one.

I was hoping it would be good for sps. A 40b is a shallow tank and this fixture sits pretty low on top so I would assume it would grow about anything. It's has 2 lunar leds that MIGHT create shimmer but I also thought about an led strip possibly. It will be a while before the Fiancé will let me do another tank anyways I'm sure lol

Yes, I also have that light in a 30" version and in a shallow tank it will grow anything you want. If you have a high tank then you put the coral with the high light needs up high and move the lower light coral closer to the bottom. I even kept a Blue Crocea clam for about 4 yrs until I sold it.
