Look what my Petco has!

Say what you want about Petco but I’ve been to some awesome ones and some terrible ones! My Petco happens to be awesome and has a large saltwater section and large frag tank. Look what they have now for $70!
Is that the one on MacArthur Rd?

Imagine if Petco got their **** together and every Petco was a good Petco...with Petco pricing...

Anytime you were out of town, vacationing, on a road trip... you would have to stop in at every Petco you drove by to see what they got... :squinting-face-with-tongue:

Oooo I’ve never seen these little guys before and for only $120 lol!

These little guys grow pretty big and can eat anything that will fit in their mouths

I know they need like 100+ gallon tanks! They are so unique though.

I know many folks wouldn't consider Petco a go to for marine fish, I guess I wouldn't either, but if you can find some relatively disease free systems (seem to be few and far between) you can find some screaming deals on fish. There is one in CA (Bay Area ) I would pop into every now and then and almost every time find a solid fish for a surprisingly low price.

And I found a bubble coral on sale for $25 back in June! SCORE!

Lucky to have one of the good PetCos fairly nearby. The fish section manager keeps all stock, both fresh and marine in great shape. I’ve got my clowns, blenny , bangaiis, and Dottyback all from there as well as one my first corals, a Duncan that started with two heads and now has at least 10-12(hard to count ‘em all). Couple weeks ago found out he orders ORA livestock as well(sigh, was between paychecks). Most likely no the last I’ll get from him.

Kinda funny cus I saw a pair of these guys in Petco the other day, very reasonably priced but put in a tank with 1-inch clowns which they were trying to eat. it was like the good and the bad of Petco put on display, great selection and good prices vs them not knowing a dang thing about fish.

Crazy what you can find in a petco. Thankfully I have a really great aquarist who works there who does an incredible job at taking care of fish. A lot of petco's really aren't that lucky.

Went to petco today. . .

they had a Niger Trigger and some other cool stuff. . .

Wife wouldn’t let me get anything. . . something about “paying the mortgage”
Did you happen to notice the price of the clowns? I just setup a new tank and looking for a pair of clowns but didn't realize how ridiculously priced they had become. Every pair I like is $350 or above! It is beginning to look like the new tank may be coral only.

I got a bonded pair of mochas for like 80 bucks, but anything like snowflake or white clowns are crazy expensive

I've been seeing some black storm clownfishes there. I was so stocked to see them! If I remember, I think the price was around 50 bucks. They had a pretty decent amount of saltwater tank along side their freshwater.
