Lookdown won't eat

What frozen have you tried?

Is it a small juvenile? They are jacks, so they should eat about anything. I haven't kept one. They really aren't a good choice for anything but large public aquariums.

The original seller said he fed minnows from the same area they were caught.

I only have access to feeder goldfish and guppies. Don't really want to feed those because risk of disease such as mycobacteria

Silversides and lancet eels, (or lancefish) are available frozen IQF. If the fish aren’t used to dead prey try moving it with forceps or skewered on a broom straw to get their attention. I’ve had to do that with baby cuttles to wean them onto frozen.

Individually frozen. You can pull them to thaw one or two at a time. I think it’s short for individually quiescently frozen. It will say IQF on the label.

That's a strange claim, as minnows are freshwater. Maybe just meant small bait fish?

I think guppies are a decent option, personally, just to get them to feed in your tank before switching to prepared foods.
