Looking for 24 Inch T5 Lighting

Hoping to spend $150 or less on a 6-8 bulb T5 fixture for my frag tank. I know that's probably a stretch, but let me know if you guys have any.

I am thinking about doing a retrofit in lieu of a fixture, but don't have the know how, so if any of you guys would like to help out, I can pay you with cold beer and frags haha.

I have a friend who will be selling a 4x24w HelloLights T5HO fixture, probably in that price range.
Has good quality bulbs, 2 ATI Blue+, 1 ATI Aquablue, and I think the 4th bulb is a Procolor.
Bulbs were new in Jan. of this year.
It's not a high grade fixture like ATI, but it's definitely a decent fixture.
I know cause it's my old fixture, he bought it off me a few months back.
He's selling it for the same reason I did, he's getting a bigger tank and needs a bigger fixture.

If you wanted to go the retro way...I've done wiring for ballasts for MH, PC, and VHO, so I'm sure that the T-5 would be just as easy. Wouldn't be hard at all.

Check the pot growing accessory store in the strip, err I mean horticulture store. They have lots of cheap T5 fixtures with individual reflectors. The store is on smallman near the big church.

Yeah I have seen that place before. Maybe I will head down there this weekend and check it out. It gives me an excuse to have breakfast at Pamelas while I am down there :smile:

I am really considering going this route. I bought Pats frag tank and stand, and it's really nice. The stand is white, so I have thought about building a white canopy to hang over it, with T5s. He is selling the MH pendant that was on it for a great price, but everything in my tank has been under T5s since day one, and after hearing about TJs problems with his zoas, I don't think I want to try MH.

I will let you know if I decide to do this.
