Long story short, a Ecoxotic Panorama marine fixture looks nice on my 40b and that's about it. (Not enough light) So, I'm wanting a 36" tank mounted fixture that can I can mount on the tank. Hanging isn't an option since I lease an apartment and this is an open top tank.

Vendors are welcome to help, willing to buy used and demos. I will pay for shipping.

What is the height of your tank?

You might want to consider ATI 6x36w or 2 Kessil a350's.

I currently have 1 Kessil a350 on a 40 Breeder (36" Long) and get pkenty of coverage for a mixed reef.

Checkout my build thread comparing the ATI and Kessil fixtures.

Ever thought about a DIY? You can get a heatsink that size.

Yeah, I did. I looked on rapidled. I'm new to the DIY on less so as far as what leds and amount I should get, I'm lost on that.

Any suggestions. The heat sink I want is 1.4"x36"

Replace the above word "less" with LEDs. Auto correct

Not sure of the number of LEDs you can fit on the drilled and tapped version but most people recommend a 50/50 split of the cool whites and the royal blues. I have made a couple actinic supplements for my tank using the 3w CREE's and I'm impressed with it. When I upgrade my cube to a 120 I will be making the light myself.

You might want to think about adding some reds, greens and violet to it as well. That's a whole different topic though.

All u need are the LEDs, drivers, a heat sink and a solder gun.
