I'm looking for a booster pump for a 100gpd ro system. I've never had to buy one so I'm not sure which brand is decent. I don't know the exact pressure, but I can tell its low.

I just got a Aquatic Life Aquatic Life Smart Buddie Booster Pump, and I like it. Not sure how it will work over the long haul but it fine during the first week.

It is also more than just a booster pump. The output goes through it so when the back pressure goes up it shuts off. The waste water goes through it so when it starts it flushes the membrane. The input goes through it and there is a pump.

The unit produces a lot more output with less waste and the TDS has not changed. Well maybe up 1.

It is a bit more noisy with it but it lives in the basement so it's not a problem for me. If you are going to put it someplace where you can hear it noise might be a problem.

The Aquatec 8800 is the standard of the industry and still built in the US. Shy away from all the imports and clones, they are not the same quality. My 8800 has not missed a beat in 8.5 years of daily use.

Thanks, I looked it up and the price seems good. Do I just need the pump? Or will I need to buy additional items?

At a bare minimum, you'll need the pump and a 24 VAC transformer to power it.

We recommend plumbing in the pump AFTER your prefilters. Given that, you'll also want a strainer.

If you want to automate the pumps operation (meaning if you want the pump to turn on and off automatically), you'll want a pressure switch. If you want the same circuit to control the flow of water to the RO (recommended), you'll also want a 24vAC solenoid valve.

Here's how those components fit together:

If you'd rather configure the system with a LOW pressure switch, you can do that too:
