I'm looking for a custom tank builder on the east coast. I would like to get a 200g-ish 7' glass tank built. I live in Virginia and would like to be able to get to the builder within a 8hr drive or so. North Carolina, Tennessee, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey possibly. I would like to meet the builders and I'm assuming that picking up the tank myself will be cheaper than a delivery. The problem with places like GlassCages is that they only do freight but I don't know about ReefSavvy and Miracles etc. I found pimpedoutaquariums.com today and contacted them via email. I've never heard of them before. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

i would check out there review on pimpedoutaquarium.com. There not a lot of custom tank builder now that i know of. I'm thinking bout ordering my tank from miracles because it cheaper and have good positive review and reef savvy is great tank builder but little out of my price range. or you can alway practice build ur own tank

Shipping is cheaper.
I ordered a 300 from truvu. They are in NorCal and I'm in SoCal.
It would of been 7 hours up and 7 hours back but bc of the size I would of need a trailer of a big truck.
To ship was 200ish and to drive was over 350...

It sucks to have to pay for something you could do but sometimes it just comes down to cost vs convenience
Good luck

I will take into account renting the truck, gas and the day for sure. My concern is getting a large glass tank shipped to my house. I just didn't know if it's possible. I will let you guys know.

too bad you aren't closer to Texas. Planet Aquariums builds simply amazing tanks for a great price. Top Notch. Starfire glass, PVC bottom, built in overflows, etc. They delivered my 225gal tank & stand to Central Oklahoma, don't know if you're out of their range or not.
