Hello reefers!!

I am looking for a piece of equipment similar to Apex. What i do not want is something that can controll everything, only to read the levels. is there anything on the market that can read all of the following:
PH
Temp
Salinity
anything else is a bonus

Apex looks good, but i just don't need everything it offers. What i'm after is 1 unit that will display the readings, thats it. i know i can get them sperate but can you get an all in one?

thanks!!

You don’t have to buy all the bells and whistles of any of the systems. Just get what you want.
For instance the Basic GHL ProfiLux 4e will give you just 4 sensors. But it has the ability to grow as you want or need. It gives you all the data via web or App. You can see everything on your phone, tablet or PC.

I find most systems are designed to allow people to expand. It’s not in the best interest of the companies to sell limited use items.

You won't find anything any cheaper, most likely. You could get an older Mac Mini, a monitor and some USB type probes and configure them yourself... more work and probably more work and more money and you can sometimes struggle with adapters.

ReefPi might be OK too, but also takes a lot of work.

I used to have a very complex program running on a MacMini that was enterprise class with best-of-three reading and true redundancy. Now, all that I do is look at the temp on a Ranco controller. I have not even looked at pH in probably a decade.

The new MindStream that is coming out would measure all of those and more. (Ca, Mg, Nitrate, K, and a couple others). For a monitor you can use an IPAD. Note the MindStream is EXPENSIVE:)

If you’re on a budget, a used apex classic with probes would work for you. You just need to buy the brain , screen, and probes, no EB8 outlets to control. You can upgrade as you want.

Thanks all,

budget is not too important, i just don't see the point in spending hundres for something simple. I was looking at the Seneye but again, didn't fancy changing the pads over all the time. I think the Apex classic is something to to look at..

Apex really just turns things on and off the probes require regular calibration. If you are just wanting the readings the Mindstream will be the best long term. Gives you more information than a traditional aquarium controller will give you.
