I’ve taken this client over from my predecessor. Unfortunately I’m not good with fish dx or treatment options so I’m referring to those with more experience.

As far as I’m aware nothing was quarantined coming into the tank and the client doesn’t wish to do a 76 day fallow period.

Other stock in the tank are 10 or so damsels, a pair of clowns, a smorgasbord of various urchins and stars, starry blenny, desjardinii tang, flame hawk fish.
125 display, 160 total system volume (estimate).

My client has been experiencing heavy attrition and I really want to get them back on a stable foundation.

This poor guy has a serious bacterial infection. I would add Metroplex, Kanaplex and Furan 2 to the water ASAP. Odds are it is caused by an underlying parasite condition. The Metroplex may help keep the parasites at bay long enough for the antibiotics to work. One of the few cases where I would consider the bacteria worse than the parasite. Once the infection starts clearing up I would switch to copper or CP to clear the underlying parasite issue.

As for your client, your options are very limited if they don't want to do a fallow period. There is no reef safe treatment that is 100% effective for ich or velvet.

The best they can do is try and keep their parameters as steady as possible, use high quality food (frozen not flake/pellet), and stay away from more delicate fish like Tangs and Angels. It would be wise to keep a product like PolypLab Medic on hand to use to knock back parasite numbers if they do see an outbreak. If they are good, they may be able to make this work and help with fish mortality. If they can't keep good, low stress parameters then they will be fighting fish loss until they either go fallow and QT everything or they develop better husbandry practices.

just to add, I would suggest infusing the meds with the frozen using focus so it is ingested. Also add a multi vitamin and vitamin c to the food and feed the entire system daily for 10 days and the continue with the vitamins in defiantly. A multi will usually have some c and b12 with is good for stress and energy.
