Looking for a first fish after cycling!(Red Sea 250)

I started cycling this sunday and i added ammonium chloride on tuesday.

When i checked ammonia level today salifert shows almost undetectable level so i added another dose and waiting to show zero again!

So im guessing the cycle will be finished by this week and looking for a good hardy fish to add!

I want to add 2 green chromis to start but im not sure if this is the correct amount of fish to start up. Let me know your thoughts on first fish after cycle!

Clowns are pretty hardy, you can probably find one for $20 - $30

disease protocol is big though, big. skipped= 80% chance you lose fish before 6 mos

that means we skip disease preps anyway, too much momentum, and then buy replacement fish in half a year. clowns are getting fairly good at being tolerant of no fallow/no qt approach but not much else

and who stays w clown only

must choose disease protocols not from a bottle imo.

take ten minutes reading threads in the disease forum, one of the most active daily input forums here. Imagine having a plan to reduce all that...crypto chance is 80% for sure within half a year on skipped prep starts.

as soon as you put your first fish in, vectoring is set, a choice in disease protocol has been made

Clowns are always good to start with. Generally start with your more docile fish so they can establish a territory, so when more aggressive are added they dont kill all your fish. At least I have found that helps.

very good job pre verifying ammonia before adding fish, forums dislike the fish-in starts. knowing nh3 control gives you the ability to start as you want.

If I had a nano that could hold fish my disease control plan would be this:
only goes into highly densely grown coral reef
fed premium foods
a clownfish
consistent water change and routine.

I believe that would keep a well-selected clown alive for years esp if a quarantined one can be located/mailed. the time it takes to produce corals before adding fish is the fallow phase of that forum above worked in.
