Ive been looking for a gigas for a while now without any luck. May have to settle for a squamosa in my 300 gallon reef tank. Let me know if anyone has ideas

Called and the lady was pretty rude and said they never get those and nobody else does either. Thanks again, ill keep looking

thats a first, sorry they are normally super nice!

No problem at all, everything is well. Thank you for the reply and trying to help me out.

I've been asking around and from what I understand there is no demand for them anymore so suppliers stopped importing them. I remember seeing t gigas and hippopus on LA all the time. Maybe consider a derasa or squamosa, they get pretty big.

Yes I am looking for a smaller one. 3k is out of my range. May have to get a squomosa or deresa instead.

You will not find a small gigas right now, I would go for a blue squamosa. There have been some really nice looking ones popping up recently, it's your best bet for a beautiful large clam.

Yes, thats what im going to be getting. Thanks. Any place particular to look?

I've bought clams from Live Aquaria and Pacific East and have had trouble with both of them. The only clams I get to live and thrive are from frag swaps. Id try there if you have any in your area.

There isn't any clubs or swaps near my area. Closest is 3 hrs in Dallas. I'll look on eBay and give it a shot

U guys think the blue squamosa is that rare?
