Hey all,

I'm new to the hobby, set up my tank a week ago today (biocube 29) I went to look at my tank today and there was darker brown patches on the live sand, which I believe to be diatom bloom and a lot of my rocks, I have 15 pounds of live rock from an established LFS tank and 20 pounds of dead rock, had little bubbles all over it.

Basically, just trying to figure out if my tank is cycling correctly or if these are a couple warning signs that I need to address sooner than later. Also, is now a good time to add a cleaner crew or am I still a little ways away from that.

I added a couple pictures so you can see the live sand, and the also the bubbles!

Thanks for your help!

Tim

I am testing the water, the salinity has been too high, so I drained some water and added some new RO/DI water to the tank. Nitrites, Nitrates and Ammonia all seem to be good!

I'm sure you can add a clean up crew, with no ammonia or nitrites. Don't want that green stuff getting out of hand on the one rock.
Awesome, and are the bubbles on the rock normal? I'll test the water again tomorrow to make sure I got the salinity down, and if my nitrites and ammonia are still at 0, I'll head to the LSF to get the cleaner crew!
