It's about time to replace my MH bulb and was wondering what others are using. It's a Hamilton 250w HQI 14k only. I was thinking of going with something a little more blue, but wasn't sure if going with a 20k would be too blue. What bulb seems to give a nice color to corals, but doesn't totally wash everything out with blue/purple?

Thanks for any advice.

The most popular answer would probably be the Phoenix 14K. It's got a nice blue tint but not overwhelmingly blue. I have that on my 30 gallon SPS tank and love it. I had a Hamilton 14K in the 150W version on my work tank for a while but and it was definitely more white when compared with the Phoenix. HTH.

the XM 15K has a nice color, but with VHO actinics supplementing, I found them too blue, and they dont have great par. My zoos were growing great under it though..
