i ordered some live rock from Florida a few weeks ago. It had some plant life growing on it. It looked like green kind of coin shaped growth. I put the rocks and plants into my aquarium and the tangs went crazy eating it. They pretty much cleared everything out in a couple weeks. I'm looking for something to replace it. When I looked online every plant said it could be grown in your sump tank. Is there nothing that can be grown in the display tank without it taking over?

Most algae will be consumed by your tangs. Look on live aquaria at their selection. There are a few tanks won't eat but not very attractive.

Ok that's awesome. I was more looking for something they would eat than something for just decoration. Thank you very much

Try looking for different macro algae, they like to eat kelp as well, my tang destroyed my whole display macro.

I'll have to try the kelp. I didn't realize it was macro algae and not just aquarium plants lol. I do a ton of reading too. I'm not sure how I missed that one
