I’m thinking about adding snails as part of my CUC, but I heard that certain species can reproduce “a lot” and get stuck in equipment etc.

The only ones that have successfully reproduced in my systems are stomatella. I have several varieties and although I occasionally see eggs nothing ever comes of them. Too many other things eat them. I wouldn't worry too much they will self regulate based on how much food source they have. If they don't have enough to eat they will die off.

I never really had any issues with snails breeding excessively in any of my tanks.
I occasionally see stomatellas wandering around, but they won't get stuck in anything.
Once in a while I have had a snail in my sump get too close to the skimmer pump intake and get stuck in the hole, but that's a easy fix and you can tell right away from a different tone the skimmer is making.
It's not really a issue.

Ok Thank you so much! I was thinking of getting Cerith snails, any opinions on snails you think might be good choices? I have a 120 gallon reef tank.

Stomatella and limpets are the only ones Ive seen reproduce in tanks easily. I have never had an issue with them clogging equipment. I consider them awesome because I dont have to buy new snails every year or two and they are small so they dont knock off frags and move rocks.
