LOOKING FOR A SUMP! Any stores having any good sales that any of you know about?

I need to order one asap.

Thanks.

I saw a presentation my Melev this past weekend. Man does he build nice sumps. Dont know price or turnaround time but If I wanted to buy a top notch sump and not make it Id go to him.

Melev is the man, but cant ship one large enough for you most likely.

Talk to Todd at cherry corals. Have him call IPI for you.

Well the sump is going to have to go under the tank so I am going to do a 36" a least.

Does CC sale them off of their site?

some at the con asked Melev this but I couldnt here well. I know it had to do with the total length and width. But it is complete custom. get your probes and what not right were you want it.

The problem is that I need one that is already made. The tank comes Saturday.

Thanks.

How big do you need? And where are you located. I might be able to help. Heres a few I built. The first one is a 48"x16x16 close to Melev's "F" model the next is a split pair to go around a brace, one side is the refugium the other is return and bubble trap.

Thanks, the smallers ones were some of the first one's I built, the 48" is the second one like that I built for a guy in Dayton's 155 bowfront, the first one is in my basement for my 150g upstairs. Gonna get the nerve up to do a tank here soon, my daughter wants a seahorse tank.

Rev, after listening to marcs lecture, i would urge you to consider going with the return area in the middle, the skimmer left, and the fuge right.

If you look into them, youll know exactly what im talking about.

I would be interested in hearing some info on this.
I am getting a sump built now and that is the design I came up with, but not for the "right" reasons probably - I'm not that smart lol
I figured I have split returns on my 125g so I could run one on a ball and slow it down for the fuge, then the rest into the skimmer area, then both the skimmer and fuge to the return so the pods don't get skimmed out.

Any info would be great Junior.

I would connect both returns to one line, then use a T at the Fuge section, add a ball valve there, then run a line over to the skimmer section with another ball valve.

If you just run seperate return lines, and the one for the skimmer gets plugged and you have the one on the fuge turned down then you will overflow your tank. You should have 25% flow through the fuge and 75% flow to the skimmer section.

In the pic with the plumbing under the tank the lines without the ball valves are my returns, the other (with valves)are the feeds.

Hope this helps.
