i saw a thread around here one day, that showed someone shipping corals up side down.

they were cutting some styrofoam and placing it around the base of the frag plug etc.

had some cool pics with it too.

anyone know what i'm talking about?

I ship that way but I dont have pics... cut a strip of 1/2 styro slightly wider than the frags and push them into the styro, Place a few drop of super glue on the plug stem and in th fome they go... I prep them the day before and float them in my tank until ready to ship. I usually put 3 to 4 plugs on 1 pice of styro and then it gets triple bagged. Frags float during shipping and have not had any issues since shipping this method.

Hope that helps, Sorry next time I will get pics.

I moved both my tanks this way. But I did it with everything from spawns to brains. Works great, just need big bags, lots of rubber bands, and styro. It is very helpful if you have four hands too when it comes to wrapping the rubber bands around large LPS.

I've bought a frogspawn frag (from Atlantis in Richmond) that they packaged like that. They sandwiched the stem between two pieces of styrofoam and wrapped a rubber band around it. When placed in the bag, the frogspawn head stays submerged in the water.
