So as I'm buying frags I keep looking to diversify my color selections. I've noticed I have no yellow.

Any suggestions, or pics? Not concerned with cool names, just like many colors in my tank.

thx

Tyree or Battle Corals have some nice yellow Pink Lemonade acropora. Yellow is harder to come by and keep. Intense lighting and low nutrient levels appear to be the key to keeping the yellow acropora yellow.

I have a Grinch from Cherry corals that has a bright yellow with red polyps.

Its much more yellow in person. Still working on camera skills.

Edit: that's really not an acro now is it. Sorry

I would post in the WTB forum. I used to have a yellow acro with yellow polpys. It was beautiful but I lost it. I bet some people may have similar. It didn't have a name that I was aware of.

Found this in AquaSD's sale last week. I thought I seen one with yellow in it. I think its 201 post

That is awesome. Will have to look into that.

I've been eye balling the pink lemonade

Haven't seen some of the others... will look into them.

thx!

TCK Pikachu, or pink floyd. If you wanted super-high end, get a WWC Kung Pao or some other yellow monti strain.

Nothing beats TCK Pikachu and Pink floyd in yellow category....but the main question is will you be able to keep it yellow....or not.;)

Not worried so much about high end or names, high end tend to grow slow... That Yellow Submarine is pretty sweet, bit pricey. The JF Yellow Jacket is a bit too pink (I have a couple of pink frags already). That pikachu is pretty sweet, looks to grow very slow and again is a little pricey for a 1/2" frag to me. Though I have some high end frags (RR Rainbow Blossom, RR Triple Shot & RR Diesel) I didn't pay premium prices for them.

Keep the ideas coming, thanks!!

What is the key to keeping it yellow?
Lol..thats the trick...no one really knows. But I once did some stupid experiment. So, i was running my NO3 low in the range of 1-2 ppm and pikachu was all yellow. So, I read a post that NO3 level can change yellow colouration of acropora. To test that hypothesis I increase my NO3 a bit like upto 5ppm. After couple of week my pikachu was greenish. But I think other than low NO3, high light also effect the yellow colour.

Interesting. I'm actually working on getting my nutrients up right now, adding fish. Maybe a yellow isn't in my future, I'd like NO3 around 5

I have a UC pikachu that stays yellow. I have my nitrate Btwn 5-10. Par is around 420. My tyree pink lemonade has gotten better colors since adding nitrates to the water
