I've had this algae for about 2 months. I noticed a few small spots on the top of rocks, assumed it was gha, so I got snails, crabs, a sea lettuce, and a blenny that would eat it. Won't touch it. Well bad news is by the time I noticed the spots on top of the rocks the entire back was covered. So nothing eats it.
Nitrates and phosphates were pretty high, likely overfeeding. I adjusted food, lowered lights to 8 hours, 4 hours peak, run fuge light with culerpa and chaeto 24/7 now, it's growing good.
With those changes, water changes, and dosing nopx nitrates are 3ppm and phosphate is reading .02 (obviously not right with this much algae growing).
On Facebook I've been told turf, gha, and/or bryopsis. I don't know which one, I did just order reef flux, gfo, and carbon to try that, but seeing if anyone has a different solution and a definite ID. Thanks
