I'm headed to Knoxville for the weekend. There are 2 LFS in Knoxville. If anyone is looking for something particular, I can check for you and being it back for you. PM me and I'll check to see if they have what you want.

Actually, I've bought from The Coral Reef before and paid over the phone and they held it for me. If you guys would like to call them to see what they have, I can go take a pic for you and text it to you to see if you want it. I won't charge anyone to bring it back. I'll just have a specific time to meet off the interstate Sunday to drop it off.

Here are the numbers:
The Coral Reef
(865) 588-0303

Aquarium
(865) 588-2073

I'd hit Aquatic Marine first. I go to Knoxville normally once a month and AM blows the other 2 away for price and selection IMO.

Well, I'll probably hit them up tomorrow evening when I get there. If there's anything I like, I'll go pick it up Sunday. I really like Coral Reef though. I've never had any issue with their stuff or staff.

Sounds like a cool field trip , guess you couldn't wait for the frag swap next month *smile*.

I am looking for Blue, purple and yellow - just not sure what type of corals , need to see them. But thanks for asking.

AM does carry more unique corals, including lots of Aussie stuff, whereas the CR carries a lot of maricultured acros and more "bread and butter" corals. I haven't been to the Aquarium lately but I've heard nothing much has changed over the years in their saltwater dept.

I don't know how familiar you all are with Sustainable Aquatics and their breeding program, but The Coral Reef is owned by Sustainable as of about three years ago. They carry of a bunch of their tank-bred, tank-raised fish, and will be carrying their soon to come aqua- and maricultured corals and clams when those programs are 100% online. Matt, the owner and lead biologist, is a really great guy. I was surprised by the number of SA fish that CR had when I was in there last month, so I asked about it and was informed that Matt had bought CR about three years ago and got part of the story.

Just thought you might be interested. I have no affiliation with SA, but I had some of their clowns in my old tank, and they were great. SA is a great way to get hardy, disease free fish. Check out their website if you want more information. People like Matt are definitely the sustainable future of this hobby.

Yes I did know that SA owned CR. I myself have two of their clowns. I did not know about the aqua and maricultured corals though.

Aquatic marine is closed on Sundays.

Forget the lfs. Stop by etrc.members houses they have much nicer corals haha

I'm actually waiting for a response from an ETRC guy about some corals and firefish. It's been 3 days, so I'm not holding my breath. Lol

I've went to Knoxville just to coral and fish shop. Aquatic Marine is incredible. I actually spent $1000 my first time there.lol my wife wanted to kill me.
