Hello all,

I am new to this forum and to saltwater. I have had freshwater in the past and have always wanted to go saltwater but have just never done it. Well I finally did it and set up a 29g Biocube. It has been running for about 2 months now and is doing great. I am fixing to upgrade the lighting to the AI Prime since the stock lighting is garbage. I have also changed out the worthless bioballs and added sump sponges and a polyfilter. I am running Chemipure Elite as well. I have a Reefkeeper Elite Plus, Vortech MP10, Coralife Protein Skimmer (I know they suck but it fits well, and I have seen good results so far), UV light (don't run it normally but its there just in case I need it), 30 lbs of live sand, and 30 lbs of live rock.

I am looking to find some corals for a good price if anyone is willing to share. A few thing I am looking for is any type of colorful zoas, green star polyps, pulsing zenia, green or purple tip frogspawn, kenya tree, and I am also looking for a bubble tip anemone.

Thanks for your help. I have a feeling that I will be getting a larger tank in the future, but I wanted to get my feet wet first.

Welcome to the saltwater world! I have been out of the hobby for about 5 years after having a 55g tank become overrun with algae and no room in the budget to upgrade from a canister filter... but am getting back into the game hopefully in the next month. You are way ahead of the game with your current setup and the patience to wait a couple months before stocking the tank. With that patience you should do very well!
MTRC has a coral swap coming up in April I believe. Great opportunity! (I will hopefully have a tank established by then)
Good luck and welcome to MTRC!

I have green star, kenya, waving pom, mushrooms. Iam in West Virginia.

I have a lot of Zoas. I would definitely wait on the frogspawn though, your tank is too new. I'd say wait another 6-8 months tbh. The Zoas and xenias should be fine. Zoas ime are almost impossible to kill lol.

I'm in California. And me too the mandarin is one of my favorite fish. I was worried when I got it that my tank wasn't big or established enough, but 9 months later and she's fat and happy lol.

They are amazing fish. One of those is in my long term plan. I know that they need a very stable environment and I am not in the business of killing fish. I am interested in your Zoas, but I am just worried with shipping since it is so cold here right now (9 degrees tonight).

Yeah overnight would probably do ok. But it's warm here so I don't really know what to say about it lol.

Ok so I got some pics. The 2 frags zoa in same pic are the same and can pic either. The other I will have to frag. The Duncan I have 2 frags of. The toadstool I have a few of.
