I have a problem with ich in my tank. All my fishes have the problem. Looking for chloroquine, it’s impossible for me find it. Could someone please tell me where can I find??? Thanks

Hi - are you in the United States? I've not seen any chloroquine available since the start of the pandemic. What happened was people got confused between chloroquine phosphate that we use in aquariums and hydroxychloroquine. People started buying it up (mostly on EBay) and the prices skyrocketed. Then, the one bulk vendor in the US took it off the market (they are having some other issues with the government). Then, those two people took some of it (in Arizona?). I came under some flack from my peers due to an online article I wrote about it (search Hemdal Chloroquine). The media got hold of that article and some started calling it a "fish tank cleaner" because I mentioned that it kills algae (!?).

Long story short - I've not seen any available in pure form. It might still be a component in some multi-compound aquarium remedies, but then you lose the ability to modify the dose, and that is critical with CP.

You can use copper in any instance where you would have used CP.....

Hello Jay, thanks a lot for your response. I live in Spain. Here in Europe, I think it’s more difficult use this products even before the Pandemic.
In your experience, it’s possible the use of hydroxychloroquina and how use it? I would like use the treatment with fish food. I found some articles with the experience of oral chloroquine in food for fish treatment. Thanks again.

Sorry - I've never used hydroxychloroquine in aquariums. Chloroquine hydrochloride is another option, and it has the added benefit of not adding phosphate to the tank.

I always wondered why they called it a fish tank cleaner...
