After dealing with ich in my 220G display tank a year or two ago I decided that I don’t want to go through that again. I am much more strict on quarantine and I have decided that I will quarantine everything that goes into the display tank, including inverts.

To this end I set up an 8G nano tank as my invert quarantine tank. Originally I was planning to just set it up and take it down as needed, but trying to get water cycled and stable for corals and other inverts on a temporary tank isn’t really fun so instead I decided that I will just leave it up and running permanently.

However, since I now have this tank up and running all the time I’ve decided that I want to give it some permanent residents as well... preferably some cool and interesting inverts that I might not be able to keep in my DT for one reason or another.

So, I’m looking for suggestions. Right now all that’s in there is one blood red fire shrimp and one small conch. I’d love a sea star of some sort, but I’m not aware of anything that would be OK in only 8 gallons.

Let me know what you guys think might be cool in a little invert only nano tank.

I'd go with a Harlequin shrimp...

If your willing to freeze chocolate chip starfish to feed a Harley.
