Hi everyone,

I am looking for coral suggestions. I currently don’t have any corals in my tank. I have two clown fish and a snowflake eel. I am going to be picking up a goby and maybe a shrimp and a wrasse. I am looking for corals that have a good amount of movement. I am planning on a Duncan coral and a type of Zoa. I have been in the hobby for about 4-5 months. What are some great corals that gave good movement. And has a great combination and work well together. I have thought about a anems, but not sure yet. I have a 46 gallon bow front

Frogspawn is nice. My clown lives in it too.

Start with the basics. The basics are those which will not be a fortune, are respondent to water chemistry, and light. They teach you the basics of husbandry of corals, effects of light, water flow and dosing.
The basics would be:
Xenia
GSP
Duncan
Zoa
Mushroom
Leathers

Euphyllia is always a fun choice and they seem easy. I would also consider cyphastrea. They are easy to grow and once they get going they go fast with a lot of color. For whatever reason they do not get a lot of mention and you can usually find frags (which do well, some corals do not frag well) for under 20 bucks. Make sure with your Euphyllia you get at least a racketball size colony to start, it will help. Also, for LPS use the iodine based dip, it seems to do better at stopping the rot that can occur with shipping injury than the sps dip.

Do you know where the best place to get a reasonable priced frogspawn?
Define reasonably priced lol. Mine is 3 years old and 12 heads. I gave away the other half that was 8 heads as it got to big for my nano.
I paid $20 for it at lfs. Best place online now I could not tell you. Try a lfs. One in town has them for around $50 for 3-4 heads but they do sell quick.

$50 that is not bad at all!! I have only seen pricing for around $250. Do you have a link where I could find one of those priced.

Dang, complete opposite side of the country. I can talk to my LFS.. to see what they can do

All fish are different but my eel was not coral safe. He destroyed my corals while swimming in and out of the rocks. Gsp has good movement and is hard to kill!
My eel really stays in one of two spots. Sometimes wonders out, but very rarely! Thanks for the input!

I’ll make a good ol list!
- pulsing xenia
- anthelia
- star polyps
- blue clove polyps
- Kenya tree coral
- frogspawn
- zoanthids
- palythoa
- other leather corals
- mushroom leather
- Aussie elegance
These are all reasonably easy coral that would look fantastic with your eel.
