I have a 35 gallon mixed reef. I have softies, lps, sps, an anemone, feather dusters, coraliforms (mushrooms) and colonial anemones (zoas). I also have a clownfish, wrasse, clown goby, and a mated pair of watchman goby. I’d really like to add something small that has some interesting behavior like courtship that would really liven up the tank. I’m considering Emblemaria Pandionis, it’s pretty, but they are very small. When in the presence of females and another male, they develop a deep black color and are stunning in their displays. I’m worried that one male will just claim all the females of the harem, kill the other boy, and go back to his normal pigmentation. There is EXTREMELY little info on the fish. Here it is. I’d love some other suggestions if anyone knows something?

Well in honest, that part about the black coloration may not even be true, while a difference in color and display is certain, it may simply be another species such as Hypacanthus being wrongly identified.
