So, my tank has been establishing and all sorts of things are changing in the tank and quite rapidly I might add. Some of these things might be nothing to worry about, but some of them I would like expert opinions so I can act ahead of time before anything goes wrong.

1st thing: Massive amounts of these small, almost microscopic critters are all over the glass. I am guessing they are pods and my research shows that a pod bloom will happen to a new tank and it'll even itself out. Right?

2nd thing: Noticed the Anemone expelling black/brown stringy stuff. My research shows that they will do this as they are adjusting to the new environment. Is that correct? Shall I just continue to observe and monitor?

3rd thing: The stylophora is turning white at the base. I read that this is STN and is basically the coral dying. My research shows that there are a million things that can cause this and good luck trying to fix it because it's quite difficult. However, we can try to figure out what we can fix such as lighting, flow, and parameters. I moved it to another location because this thing had been showing great growth, but a bunch of green and brown algae starting growing around on the rock and that algae was rubbing on it's base. So I moved it to a location where there is no algae and now it is also getting better flow and lighting. Anything else you would recommend I do?

4th thing: I am shooting in the dark when it comes to lighting. I have no idea if I am blasting the tank with too much light or I am starving them. I added a picture of my tank and measurements below along with my AI Prime settings. It is currently on a 3 week acclimation period of 50%.

5th thing: My filtration consists of Aquaclear 70 with biomax pellets and purigen. No carbon because my research seemed to find that it was pointless to run carbon and purigen at the same time. Is that accurate?

Thanks ahead for reading through, please feel free to answer any of these if you don't want to make a statement on one of them. I'd like to just gather as many answers as possible to make an educated decision on what action to take.

Parameters at the moment (Estimations because of API kits):
Tank size: 17.1 gallons 24x12x14
Salinity: 1.026
PH: 7.9-8.0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5-10
Water changes every week 10-20% with RO/DI and Red Sea Coral Pro Salt

Filtration:
Aquaclear 70 with biomax pellets and purigen

Yup

yup. Actually generally a little early for a nem, but it seems to be working for you.

perfect. nothing better.

yup. I only ever ran carbon in my hob tanks. to each thier own.

Hardest one. I prefer the best coverage and spread over the tank to get light into the nooks and cranny's. and avoid shading, a possible prob on the stylo. you want as much light bouncing around the tank as possible, not just a spotligh on the corals and rock. let it bounce off the glass.
Research PAR. Also intensity. I use a lux meter to gauge intensity.
Heres a recent thread with some ramblings on par/lux

a lux thing
