Hello~ I'm currently in the process of designing a sump for my 90x55x38 (cm) frag tank and would appreciate it if anyone could offer me some feedback on the sizing for the different compartments. The image below is to scale, with the sump measuring 60x55x38 (cm).

The green, yellow and red circles are for the main, secondary and emergency drain respectively. The hexagon shape is for some form of reactor I plan to add in the future but for the time being have yet to decide on the specifics. The entire setup is for a mixed reef frag tank mainly for propagation (and hopefully sales in future :p) with no rocks in it and only around 3-4 utilitarian fishes like tangs, wrasses, damsels for cleanup.

A couple of concerns I have are:
1. Is the biomedia chamber enough for my total tank volume or do I need to make it bigger? I still can't decide between marine pure spheres or maxspect biospheres for media.
2. Same concern regarding the refugium compartment.

Really appreciate anyone willing to share some of their thoughts on this as well as the general sump design as it's something I pieced together while reading up online for my tank build, so I have no idea if its good or not. If there's anything that I missed out on feel free to let me know too. Cheers!

I like to have my biomedia as close to the return as possible to limit detritus buildup but looks like a solid design

Ok thanks! Was thinking detritus in the sump should be kept to a minimal with a rollermat installed.

Any other reefers willing to share their thoughts on the sump layout?
