Starting a new tank (new sand/rocks)...will eventually transfer corals and fish from my current IM 30L to IM 50 Lagoon. The IM 30L was my first saltwater tank and I didn’t know too much about anything (rock scape, water flow, coral placement, etc.) and ended up with two larger rocks (which aren’t that great in this set up as they take a lot of space/restrict flow..). Now I’m trying to be better with the new tank.. will keep a mixed reef (most LPS/zoas/anemones with few SPS at the top).

The last pic is of the current tank/corals I have... the rest is the new tank. I’m thinking of using the left island as a Euphyllia garden (frogspawn, hammers, etc.).. anemones with zoas and maybe torches on the right..

Really open to other ideas/suggestions...

^^+1^^ Yep. What he said. The only thing I would add is to IMMEDIATELY start a build thread on the new tank. It is by far and away the best way to document your progress, successes and failures, and maintain a timeline of what you've achieved. As an added bonus, you get a shiny new "build thread" badge and get advice, tips and ticks along the way by some of the most knowledgeable reefers in the hobby. I waited 2 years before starting my build thread, and I'm still kicking myself for it.
