My old refractometer gave up the ghost recently. Bought a new JBJ and it's absolute garbage, inconsistent readings and won't stay calibrated. Anyone got a make/model on a refractometer they really like? One that holds up to heavy use? I don't mind spending a little extra for quality.

I absolutely love my Milwaukee instruments digital refractometer!!! Hands down the best and easiest! I see it on sale here and there for like 100-110 dollars.

Someone told me all refractometers were made in the same factory.

I really doubt it, I've used a few and they're all really different. Quality of the lenses, the hinges on the top plate, and size of the number scale all vary quite a bit. Not to mention ease of and need for calibration, my big issue with the JBJ unit I'm using right now.
