My CDA tank will be arriving soon and I'm looking to build an aluminum stand. The door width isn't wide enough to have a steel stand built, so it has to be built in the same room as the tank.

The tank will be 54"L x 34"W x 24"H and I'd like the stand to be 54"L x 34"W x 33"H with either 4 or 6 anti-vibration rising feet. I'd also like to have 2x 90° light rails that come out from behind the stand and reach out 19".

I've reached out to Framingtech, but I figured I could save some money with a DIY.

I've looked at several 80/20 websites and have no clue where to start especially with all the connector pieces and bolts.

Any help is much appreciated.

If you're going with clear anodized, then Tnutz will save you some money. But if you're going with black anodized, then go with 8020.net or F and L (Tnutz scratched my black anodized so much in the milling process, it was barely black any more). I like Tnutz for buying hardware, as it's the cheapest out there, so that could save you a little money. You could use panel mounts or corner brackets to mount your light rails to the back of the frame, so that's not too difficult. I think if you look around, there are a few builds that have 8020 stands and you'll see how they are assembled.
Is this vid the guy simply uses anchor fasteners on each upright and end piece. I would probably back the uprights with short 45's for stability and added strength.
I like what this guy did with this stand, looks great and is probably what I would do overall.

I started by watching the 80/20 connector videos on youtube. There are a hundred ways to go about it. The other big thing is how to enclose it. If you leave the frame open then it's relatively simple. I built doors on three sides. Some people cover the frame with removable panels. Heads up the hardware, gets really expensive quick.
