I currently have a wet/dry sump and was looking to convert it to a wet sump by adding some baffles and removing the wet/dry section.

Here is what I currently have:

I was thinking about doing this to it:

I need to get the RO 110-S, filter sock holder and Marinepure block but
does this sound like a good setup. Or should I hold off and just get a new sump instead?

Any comments welcome.

Be careful of the footprint of the skimmer sometime little bits stick out sometimes. You also might want to be able to adjust the height of the dividers around the refuge and return area to adjust flow in that area.

Well I was thinking about cutting the Marinepure to have it fit inside the refuge instead of in with the sock and the skimmer just to give more room in there.

I like the idea of the variable height in the refuge too. Will have to look into that a little more.

I will say, the only issue I do have and am looking to solve next sump cleaning is a consistent water level in skimmer area. Only way I've really found to be the answer is seal up the current port between the two sides of the wet dry and drill holes all the way across at the water level I desire (which in turn I believe is going to require I add a bubble trap to keep the waterfall from churning up too much. Or adding a piece of acrylic before the current link between the wet dry chambers to set a steady water level. Haven't figured specifics out yet as I'm a few weeks out on a sump breakdown and clean out.

Well after seeing your sumps, I think I can eliminate the refuge in the return section. Keep that whole section for return and another smaller pump to lift to the 10 gal refuge. Then I can add an overflow back into the return section.
