My tank is almost 2 months old, my PH, Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrates are all good, I have a few fish in the tank that are doing amazing. About a week ago I went to my LFS and got new high performance carbon, ceramic bio balls, and a bottle of nitrifying bacteria, I came home, added 2 bags of the carbon to my canister filter and placed the bio balls in the 3 trays, now 2 days later water started looking a little cloudy, now 4 days later water is super hazy not a creamy white haze but hard to see what's in the tank, what on earth could have caused this, the fish don't look stressed at all and are swimming and doing fine, I have a CUC in there doing its thing. So what could this haze be from? And how do I get my water crystal clear like it was before changing the carbon and adding the bio balls???

Is that the water its self or the glass from what I see it looks like diatoms on the glass. Also you made sure to rinse everything before adding it to your canister.

Diatoms are on the sand and live rock, the bottle I got said the whole bottle could go in since it was non toxic and just live bacteria, it's in the water, as I sit here looking at it you can see a white milky looking substance flowing around and through the water.. I did wash everything, the bio balls as well as the carbon packs

I'm guessing to much of the bacteria it is non toxic but at the same time like most you can use to much. What brand was the bacteria?

This is the brand my LFS gave me, so to much good bacteria could make the water a light milky color? Is there anyway to clear it up, any water clarifier or other suggestions.. Tank is a 37g

it looks like a bacterial bloom. If so, it will clear up on its own in a few days.
Had to pull it up on the PC now i can see the white haze would agree with the Bacterial bloom.

A bacteria bloom okay for the fish, because they are swimming and breathing normal, other then the tank being so cloudy you can barely see inside, any products to use or let it run its course?

Ha ha dont worry its just a bacterial bloom.....just wait for 2-3 days it will go away by itself. Its not harmful for the tank just aesthetically bad. Dont dose any carbon source like vinegar or vodka.....:)

Okay, and does that go away on its own or should I add anything?? Sorry I was posting from tablet maybe that's why pic was small :(

Vodka for you is good but vodka for tank not good at least for now. After this is over try to do a 10% water change.

No its not bad once i pulled it up on my PC but I'm sitting on a location with a galaxy S-3 not so goo on my end.
agree no vodka for now unless you would like a shot and relax but don't feed the bacteria.

Will do, is shutting down lighting assist? I'm running Current Marine LED
Just dont touch it.....follow your regular routine. It will go away automatically believe me. Just take a break and drink some vodka.:D

Get up tonight for work, peek in tank, and it's now crystal clear o_O I'm guessing it came and went that quick

Yes you did, came down stairs and the moonlights were on, I was like hmmmm I can see rock so I threw the whites on real fast and BAM, crystal clear with just some residue on the glass now haha perfect! TY again!!
