Hi
Looking for ideas on setups to stock 40g breeder tanks. I've seen online people using the racks from homedepot or lowes which is most likely what i'm going to do. Just looking to get some examples of what other people have used. Looking for those basic setups to the real nice furniture style stuff.
Looking to stack 2 x 40b so i can QT multiple fish to get my new build all setup.
Thanks
Joe

You realize two QTs in close proximity would have to be treated as a single tank from a disease contamination perspective. In other words...you would not want to transfer fish from tank A to your DT if a new batch of fish were recently added to tank B. As soon as new fish are added (to either tank) the clock would restart again for both tanks regardless of separate filtration systems. Ideally, you want QTs at least 10’ apart and separate rooms even better with separate cleaning, feeding, water change utensils, etc., for each. Also have to carefully wash your hands after working in one tank before moving to the next or your DT for that matter.
The exception to the 10’ rule would be if you are planning to use the two 40B’s alternately for TTM.
Just an observation to help you make your quarantine process work.

Hey
Thanks for the info. I would be treating each tank as its own separate QT. So my plan was this. I also plan to start the actually QT process on both tanks together. I will purchase fish, observe them and once i have a small stock list start both tanks on the same treatment plan. Just want to split the bioload, aggression...
I don't plan to QT batches at different times.
I'm planning on getting a yellow tank, powder blue and Naso, pair of clowns, cardinals, anthias... (After a nice long cycle process) Really its to add the tangs all at once to the main tank. Also this way have a better handle on ammonia.

All honesty - happy wife happy life. If i just have a bunch of tanks sitting around all over she wouldn't be too happy. If i make it neat and organized and look a little more attractive shes less likely to kill me.
