Received this pump and controller today. Boy am I impressed by the power and selection of mods, in fact it is a little intimidating.

The pump is in a JBJ 20 RL, all other power heads have been removed.

I have read the manual, it's pretty dry and not real specific.

Looking for information regarding where yours is placed depth wise, did you modify the guard over the impeller? Any experience you can provide regarding the Tunze Nano 6040 is very much appreciated.

There is 1 review to be found, no useful videos and very little on the forums.

TIA

Two oh my!

Mine is turned all the way down power and pulse power wise and I see see some wave crest.

Do you like them?

Love them I think everyone is so excited with the gyre pump the Tunze 6040 is being totally forgotten. In cube tanks a gyre pump is just too much and the area of water movement is to short a distance. Once I get things totally settled I will be writing up a post. This tank that they are in is too new to get a locked in flow pattern yet.

You already know this, but for the sake of any future reader:

I have one in a JBJ RL20 (frag tank). I'm quite impressed and one is plenty enough in this tank (barebottom with just the eggcrate rack). I have it placed in the vertical orientation at a back corner, and the prop is about midway in the tank. I'm running in the on/off wave pulse mode, and at only about 20% power. That's as high as I can turn it up without creating a wave which would slosh onto the floor! :D I will be doing nothing to it, mod wise; it does all I need it to do as-is out of the box.
