I found one, did some quick research and decided to go with one in my fluval 32.5. He seems to be doing great but we are only 2 days in. Upon attempting to do more research I have not found much in the way of this particular fish. Anyone have insight on care for these or what to watch for. He seems very mellow and was already eating small bits of mysis shrimp. Looking for other food options, going to get some nori for him since I know he does eat that as well.

I think that are similar to stripped blenny and such. There isn't any sort of particular care requirements.

Hmmm...maybe try looking up other Meiacanthus blenny care requirements? I've found that if you look up care requirements for one species in a genus, it tends to apply to all the species in the genus for reef fish.

Food wise, they look like zooplanktivores. Maybe something like Hikari's Cyclopods, or PE's Calanus would also work. Fish eggs are also always a good choice.

The blenny seems to have no issues eating mysis, I did pick up a Frozen pack of mix, blood worm, mysis, and brine shrimp. I’m sure he will be able to pick something out of that, he ate quite a bit and then went back to picking at the rocks. I’m afraid that he will eat pods as fast as a mandarin. We will see how he acclimates to the new schedule. He was an introduction to a tank that had only a single chromis in it for almost a month, that chromis started picking at his fins, yes... the chromis was bullying a blenny twice his size, so... the chromis has to go and was replaced by two baby clowns. It shows how mellow they are. No aggression at all. Not even self defense, he did take an interest in the clown fish at first but didn’t seem to care much. But for diet, so far the mysis are a go. I’ll see what else he eats and I’ll let you guys know!!!

They seemed to be kinda rare so I was just looking for general keep knowledge. Experience gained from who else has kept them. Anything that may be unusual to the fish. They are gorgeous and I love him, just want to make sure I’m keeping him happy. This is only the end of day one with him and so far he seems great.
He has an unusual sleeping habit, he climbs up into a top corner of the tank and clings to the glass and rests.. I figured he would wedge in the rock or something but he prefers the upper corners of the tank.

Sorry thought you were after what to feed. Seems most are captive bred now, so should be easy to keep.

Just anything, he didn’t eat the first night but that’s to be expected. Took to mysis no problem. I’m curious as to what else others have fed but otherwise seems to be very easy going.

mine didn't eat anything for like a week, it freaked me out for a bit. i had to go get live blackworms from the lfs, but eventually they came around and now eat pretty much anything. they seem to really enjoy the TDO pellets, small grain size. but they also take pe flakes and all kinds of frozen

mine sleep in bolt holes in the rocks, idk what kind of rocks you have, but i think being in the rocks is their preferred area

i think a few places breed them, but you're pretty much guaranteed to have a captive bred specimen. if it actually came from japan it'd have costed several hundred dollars

i'd highly recommend a screen top as one of mine got so excited during feeding that it jumped and hit the screen top as i was lifting it

Thanks for the info!! I have a lid on my tank so hopefully him jumping won’t be an issue, I’ll see what I can do to get him more places to hide at night

I picked one up my self a few days ago, mine likes to sleep on top the highest rock in the tank, wedged between bumps in the rock. He’s been pretty active since day one, and gets along with my clowns, diamond watchman goby, sunrise dottyback and my 6 line wrasse
