Hello all, I have a Red Sea max 130d with Steve’s LED/Hurricane X controller. I only have a few clownfish for now but looking for light settings. I used what was listed as a starting guide in the manual but wondering if there was a more custom setting that some have found to work well. My tank seems awfully dark but maybe it’s supposed to be?

Have you taken a PAR measurement in your tank? Assuming you are or want to have corals, this is really the only way to know if your light levels are adequate.
I haven’t, guess I need to try and find a PAR meter. What are the parameters I should be shooting for?

I only have a few clownfish, a diamond goby, snails and some hermit crabs. No coral
You don’t need any specific PAR level for your fish and inverts, if you have no plan to purchase coral then I would just adjust the light to what visually speaks to you. Just remember that more lighting can generate more algae growth.
