looking for photos and information for a book

I am writing a short book on my experience with the hobby and I am looking for some photos and information on whatever I can get. Plz have a small description with photo so I can add it under the photo and a name or something I can put with the photo plz any materiel will be very helpful and greatly appreciated

My thoughts exactly. But if you don't have enough check out the gallery section on nano-reef.com there's thousands of pictures to choose from.

I agree. Most people are touchy about others using their images. To take a good image it takes time, skill and typically a lot of money in equipment which is why people don't want them used for any other purpose other than their own. If you want to use someone's photo it's best to get permission.

Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do! Lol i'm kidding but all the pictures have the user's name above so just ask. I'm sure most would love to have their pictures in a book, especially if you included their name and tank. Most pictures you see in books and other info sources are "stolen" by the way.

I would tend to disagree. If a photo in a book is used illegally, and that photo is found by the photographer, serious consequences could be in play.

It doesn't matter, copyright laws pertaining to fair use of pictures:

If the image you are using is in the public domain, a U.S. federal government image (though not all government works are in the public domain), or the copyright owner has clearly (and reliably) stated that you may freely use the image without obtaining permission.

Ask for permission and you'll be fine.

Ask permission before using a photo. According to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, if you improperly use an image that has a copyright registered with the U.S. Copyright Office (and it can be registered within 3 months of publication), "The statutory award for each violation of Section 1202 ranges from $2,500 to $25,000." The photographer can also sue for actual damages. As said before, mostly people will likely say 'yes', so just ask!

I am looking for photos of everything from corals to equipment and the book is about how I failed in my adventure so far and how I am now trying to do it right and in my opinion if you take the time and money to take great photos you deserve the credit for it and photos given will be very apreceated and if anyone has any good tips or equipment recommendations I would love to use that as well I also want to incloun some information on anything I can and try to give the best advice I can
