I am in the process of bringing in 100yd rolls setting up a filter felt cutting and bagging line at the shop and am curious what size precut filter pads and rolls everyone would be interested in. I will be making a polishing pack for the 14G and 29G Biocubes since I used felt all the time for cleaning traps and regular filter stacks. I'll eventually offer a Biocube plastic media plate (and a 2-step waterfall) for the felt to sit on/in. What size pads, rolls or other shapes would be of interest? I could make socks but I won't make enough profit to justify the time spent on sewing them. I could do custom bags or other sewn shapes, though. Here is the initial product package offering:

3ft x 6ft roll in 50-micron, 100-micron or 200-micron
Biocube pad pack with 2x50, 2x100 and 2x200
Biocube pad pack with 6x50
Biocube pad pack with 6x100
Biocube pad pack with 6x100

I can make whatever from 72" x 100yd rolls of felt in those 3 micron ratings. I just need the dims to cut and/or complete outside dims for a 2 to 5-sided filter device.
I can also get singed (rough, melted pile) on one side if it benefits the application. My first order is all unsinged/fluffy but I can order it for a specific application you have in mind.

If you mean the retaining ring that sits in the biocube sump, yes. I will use a filter frame as a template and cut it square. I am planning on having some plastic frames to use instead of that insert, for the newer Coralife tanks. The older Oceanic Systems do not have a frame that the cartridge sits in, you just used floss in the top section. I had to cut mine out to fit a cartridge.

Think about re-usable pouch sizing as well. I can sew hook and loop onto the felt and make top-fold pouches for media.

Here is version 1.0 of the BioCube 29G filter shelf that fits in the existing filter cartridge retainer.
I am also working on a design for a rectangular felt skimmer sock that will drop into the Coralife 29G cartridge retainer. You will need some sump clearance to run it, but it should reduce the amount of filter balls and rock in the middle chamber and give you a longer(and better) filtering life than the cartridges.

Too small. Here's an updated filter basket for the biocube 29g. It will replace the cartridge and the hanger that sits in the middle chamber. This basket will drop-in and give you 2", 1.5", 1" or .5" of filter media depth. The 1" will likely be the most usable for 3 layer felt. The 1.5" and 2" will be good for creating waterfall/step flows by backing up the inlet and letting the flow go down across to the left.

It fit the cartridge hole perfectly, but there is no way to align it in the middle where the hold is.
