Hey guys, I am starting to look around and going to try to find the best place to get a purple tang from. I rarely see them in Kingsport. I may have seen 2 in the 3 years I have been in and out of the hobby. I am not really ready for it but possibly in about a month or so. I was going to go Achilles but decided against it with my somewhat questionable 125 gallon tank size. Anyways is there a store you guys see these tangs at somewhat often? Also maybe who has the best quality of livestock around? And finally, who usually has the best prices?

I was at the coral reef a couple weekends ago and was pretty impressed with their livestock. Everything seemed super healthy and prices were very reasonable. Dry goods like the salt were actually cheaper than what I can get them for online. Any stores around the Knoxville area you guys would recommend checking into? Would possibly consider online vendor but rather see the fish in person and not have to ship. Plus it can be hard for me to be home to receive the fish order.

Aquatic Marine can order for you its a great store I buy lots of stuff corals fish etc from them.;)

I saw them on sale this week somewhere online for under $100. I can still recall paying $35 for one LOL. Beautiful fish but got to be careful what you add with them.

Ryan call me 865-253-2846 and lets discuss. I am ordering next week. Good deals always.

Alright I will give you a call in here in a bit but honestly you told me a month or so I should wait awhile and you are probably right. I am sure it would be fine in the tank and I can take care of it. I have had a few zebrasomas, Ctenochaetus, and acanthurus tangs before. I just haven't finished stocking my other fish in the tank yet, however I do not plan on adding any other tangs if I get a purple. So we can discuss it and maybe set up a estimate about when to get one but I will probably hold off unless you have a deal I just cant pass up.

I did not recall all that. I am glad you reminded me.

Yeah I wasn't sure if you did or not. If you ever want to get rid of one of those purples out of your display I would be glad to take one off your hands. I like getting fish from other hobbyists' tanks rather than getting them shipped in honestly. Atleast that way I know they have been eating and are adapting well to captivity.

Agreed. Call me Monday.
