Looking for quite return pump

I have the Jaebo dcp 6500 for my 150. I don't run it maxed out because of water noise and air bubbles but when I have there is no sound.

I'm kind of thinking it might just be my plumbing now. Cause the only noise I get is the vibration on the PVC. Is there a way to plumb it to be quiter? Thinking about redoing it in 3/4 pvc

I have been using both an eheim and a reef octopus. The eheim has a small vibration if you hard pipe it all without using a flex section. Tbe reef octopus is dead silent for me.

Just a thought. Could you use foam pipe insulation since your plumbing is on the outside to eliminate your vibration? I'm not sure if that is where you are getting the vibration or not.

No it's coming more from the PVC closet to the pump.

I'm going to replumb the return to 3/4 PVC Monday. Is there a quiter way to plumb it?

My Jeboa DCT-4000 has been running my 65g return for 18 months now, dead silent and so far no issues. Only been cleaned once to date. My head looks similar to yours, and that is no issue for it. As you have a smaller tank a smaller pump would probably be more appropriate however.

Start with soft tubing, then anchor the hard plumbing to the stand with a brace. Nothing can touch the sump except the bottom of the pump. Still I am not entirely sure this will help, but mine is quiet.

Soft plumbing as in flex PVC?

Pump on silicone trivet.
Short section of silicone tubing from pump to hard plumbing return.
Plumbing should not touch the sump otherwise.

I have the pump on a silicone mat. How do you connect the silicone tubing to the PVC? And to the pump?Got any pictures?
