I have a 75 gallong tank. I am going to redo the entire tank. I and going to re engineer and refinish the stand etc to be able to accept a sump of my own design.

I will initially just run a Y off the sump to dual returns but will be getting a scwd for it down the road a little.
It can be external or internal but I don't want it to totally break the bank.. Tank will have a snow flake moray in it for sure and a scorpion as well.. other inhabitants to be decided later. Coral stock will be mostly soft and LPS (acans plates hammers of sorts)

Ideas? Would like it to be silent as possible but economical as its in my living room.

Thanks,
Garnet

I know from experience you don't need a mag drive 18 on a 75g. Mine is throttle back half way because my skimmer did have time to catch crap literally. A few hundred gallons is all you need going through your sump. Rely on power heads or a closed loop system for flow in your display unless you have a beast of a protein skimmer. Now this is just my experience and opinion. I'm sure someone else can give you a better idea. But just trying to help. Lol

I own several tanks and I think one of the most important pieces of the puzzle is the return pump and flow. Good to see the use of scwd for random flow. Mag 12 would be a good pump as well as a reeflo blow hole. I just recently purchased this pump as it has three different setting. Basically low, med, high. Great for switching current and adding more power later in the future if you need it.
