I just upgraded my return and have around 2000+ GPH. I'm looking for a way to randomize the flow since there's so much. I don't want to change the GPH because it will impact the siphon for the overflow. I looked into Sea Swirls but they will not fit my application because the overflow is in the middle on a peninsula tank and I have several large mangroves. Currently I just have some lockline.

Yeah I have a 525 and took a lot of advice from you with out the king you along the way. So no better time then now. Thank you sir the split lock line is one of many items I’ve borrowed

@Vivid Creative Aquatics i have a one inch Return that’s pushing 2500 gph. Currently there’s two pieces of pex splitting off. I want to replace everything down to the bulkhead. What do you recommend?

Thank you for the responses!

I put two on my Red Sea 525 XL and love it. The fitting to the outlet is nice and snug and I don't worry about it coming off at all. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

at 2500 GPH, you would definitely want to continue to split the return. You could run two 3/4in Random Flow Generators. We have flow tested them up to as much a 1,000gph per nozzle with no issues and they could handle even more.

Another option might be to convert it to a single or even dual 1in RFG Nozzles. The 1in creates some insane flow, but they are designed to slip-fit over standard shcl40 PVC, so the reconfigure might not be as easy as just going with 3/4in Loc-line versions.

Send me a pic od you tank and I might be able to give you some more specific advice on which way to go.

Did you do the entire Y or just the heads ? 1/2 inch yes ?

I’ve seen the kits I just wanted to know bc I forget the initial size of the return pipe thanks
All the Red Sea Reefer systems share the same return line plumbing - 25mm. So, any of our 25mm adapted and kits will fit the Red Sea Reefer systems.

The RSR 525XXL aquarium is in that mid-point where you could go with either the regular Red Sea Reefer Ultimate Return Line Upgrade kit which includes the 1/2in RFGs, or go with the Red Sea Reefer XXL Ultimate Return Line Upgrade kit, which upsizes the whole kit to the two 3/4in loc-line and 2 3/4in RFG nozzles.

The 1/2in Kit takes up less space, but still creates a nice randomized flow pattern that spreads out nicely at distance, while the XXL kit can take and convert a ton of GPH into a nice, wide randomized flow pattern that moves a large volume of water.

hope that helps.
