Anybody got any live rotifers or know where I can get them locally? I'm wanting to raise some clown fry.

Clarkii there second clutch will hatch tonight they ate the first. I want to try and raise the third. AC said they would have to order them and they would be $30. That seams a little high to me, but I haven't looked elsewhere yet to see prices. And was hoping somebody around here had a culture I could get a start off of for cheaper.

That is odd and i need help with my misbar clowns they are not spawning I bought the pair several months ago they had spawned 1 time befor but not from me

Clowns are odd they spawn when they want too. Tank conditions have to be just right and they have to feel safe. If there are any fish that stress them in the least they won't spawn. Tank parameters need to be almost perfectly on too. Tank temp needs to be around 80 also from what I've noticed. Mine stared when I raised mine from 76 to 82. And stopped when it dropped back below 80. So now I keep it at 80.

Damsels are the devil. I banished a solid blue one to a life sentence in my sump/refuge but he seams to love it there going in and out threw all the macro algae. He basically chases pods all day, which are everywhere in my tank, to the point im seriously considering getting a manderian to get rid of some of them. I love his color or else he might have been cat food. I was tired of getting bit when i touched the water. It even jumped at me once when I was working on the tank cover.

Anyways back to looking for some rotifers, if you hear or see any let me know. If you want to continue the discussion on the clowns we can start a new thread outside the buying and selling section, and im sure others would have input to help you with them, and id love to help this thread just aint the place to keep this convo going. By the way did I mention I'm looking for some rotifers lol

I looked at that and by the time it ships its almost 50 dollars, and I just dont know if its worth it. I have the time, tanks, air stones etc to raise the fry. Just as a college student idk if I should spend that kind of money on fish food. But I really want to try and raise them so i might.
