Hello Reefers,

I am looking for recommendations for slow growing coral species. This post is probably opposite of what most new reefers look for. I hear Favia and Euphyllia grow fairly slow. Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

There are so many stories of Mushrooms, Zoas, Xenia, etc. going crazy.... not looking for that. My goal is to have a nano reef that does not need weekly trims or something that becomes unenjoyable to maintain.

Thanks!

there are also mini scolys that stay small forever,

favia can be slowish while favites are fast growing. Goniopora dont grow too fast either sure others will come in with more

Chalices, Favia, a lot of SPS, brain corals, etc.
Some corals that are known for growing fast can grow super slow in other peoples tanks and vice versa. The ones I mentioned are pretty much across the board slow growers
