Looking for some ideas on what to purchase

Hey all,

Hope all is well with everyone. So I’m looking for some corals to purchase that w/ some movement and would like some ideas.

I do not really know the difference bt. sps or lps. I do not want anything that is too difficult to keep up with.
I had a few torch corals and they all ended up getting film on them then dieing so I no longer want any of those since I can’t take care of them properly.

What I currently have in my tank that are flourishing:

pulsing xenia coral- they grow way too much
Kenya tree
Blue Cespitularia Coral

I also have anenomes which I absolutely love. A total of 5

I would like to try any coral w/ some movement please!

Euphyllia is a great way to add movement to a tank. When you’re ready I highly suggest you try it! They also sell long tentacle anemones and elegance coral if you’d like to give those a shot. I love having flow in my tank! Even if it’s just a little sway

Also, did your original anemone split and now you have five? How long has your tank been set up?

Agree with above. If you want movement then you really can't beat euphyllia, aka torches, hammers, and frogspawn. When the SPS grow into colonies you get a little movement when the polyps are out, but not much.

Green Star Polyp (GSP) look great when they sway in the water, esp when on a large rock island. This is fast growing n can take over rock work so best to isolate it on an island.
Also, instead of torch u may want to give hammer heads or frogspawn a try, they are easier to care for than torch.

I’ll look that up as well... thanks. And I had an elegance coral before but didn’t last. My rainbow anenome actually split. My tank has been set up for at least 8 year I think.

I’m with everyone here try out a frogspawn or a hammer both will sway with the right amount of flow. I love plate corals (fungia) you get some movement out of the tentacles but not too much. Good for sandbeds

Could be...mines quite a bit darker red but could be lighting...
